Deadclasp

Anyone out there in the mid 50's and after a new bow? Head down to Silithus and take up the wanted boards quest to kill Deathclasp. Deathclasp is a level 59 elite with two level 57 guards, the guards have a dot that stacks up to 3 times while deathclasp has a big stun so tanking and killing is out of the question. Well I guess since the only skill we've learned as a hunter is /pettattack then shoot things we'll have to wait a long time will we can kill this. Even if I were some kind of genius hunter who could crowd control the two guards through some kind of trap or sting of sorts I would have to deal with a creature 3 levels above me with a 8 second stun that I can't remove.

Oh wait I can kite! Never-mind lets squash some bugs! On goes aspect of the cheetah, detect beasts (most everything in Silithus is a beast around there) off goes growl, down goes a freezing trap, wait 20 seconds or so and then use arcane shot rank 1 to pull the first guard. Straight into the trap, send Faloranu onto Deathclasp to get initial aggro while I pull the second guard into a second freezing trap (remember you can dual trap in this patch again) and then I start shooting till I get aggro (no time at all as growl is off) and then the game begins. Its quite a fun kite because after the freezing traps wear off you have 2 more coming in a little bit behind and Silithus is chock full of mobs that you have weave around to avoid. I managed it second time (ran the wrong way into a random mob the first time and had to feign death)

Here's a little map of my kite for you all to see, its not actually that big (Deathclasp only has 8000 health, I suppose they thought the elite came more from having to deal with guards too) but still I encourage people to try little things like this, because practice makes perfect and some day it may really help you! Plus you might get a new bow like me!
