Monday ramblings

Dentists are evil, more so than Death knights, I'm not saying they should be the new hero class instead, but maybe a profession, a death knight dentist/engineer would be something to be truly feared!

The following races women are too rare: Orc, Troll, Tauren and Dwarf. Do your part, don't kill them unless you have no choice, and even make one, be unique!

I really want to make a Tauren huntress and have a pet brown tallstrider called Warukie. I'm sure I got that name from somewhere but I cannot for the life of me figure out what I got it from. I could also grab one of those barking wolves while I'm at it.

I've gotten 2 invites to guilds so far, despite not leaving my current guild or even looking for a new guild, do I have a reputation or something?

Grinding mobs with 2 survival hunters going all out is much like 3d pong, but without the blip noise.

Hey blizzard how about updating all the char models to be as detailed as blood elves and dreanei, I mean painted toenails are a nice feature, but be nice and share them among the other races too.

"
Your BMI is 24.01" According to the nhs I'm no-longer fat, so can someone explain what that wibbly-wobbly stuff thats hanging off me is?

Twisted Nether

You know theres a problem with blogs, for all our collective greatness, between the blogs on the web you can learn pretty much how to play any wow class in any wow spec like a pro, and I assume theres a few blogs out there which teach people how to play their class badly, I refuse to believe that so many incompetent people are naturally that talented at causing wipes!

However there is a problem, for you see you cannot read a blog, no matter how interesting, factual and helpful it may be, while playing wow, the human body simply lacks the required amounts of eyes to do both, and you would have to buy a second monitor to do so, but do not fear, for Breana and Fimlys (and one assumes the Pookie too) have come to our rescue and saved us all from having to mutate ourselves for our blog reading pleasure! For now you can be a blog listener thanks to the Twisted Nether blogcast!

Check it out, I find its good to have something like this (and also radio 2/4 comedies) to listen to while your doing your dailies/a bit of grinding/instead of joining teamspeak so that you can be blamed for wiping the raid! Twisted nether is even available on itunes, so in case you want to shove it on your ipod and listen to wow commentary on the train or whatever, this can now be a reality!

While I'm giving out links, check out some of these blogs not yet available as soundbytes:

Awbiste's Thicket: After rerolling form a 70 Warlock Awlbiste is now leveling up a night elf druid "why should I care about a druid?" you ask, well firstly those of us who respect nature should stick together, secondly her boyfriend is leveling up a dwarf hunter with her, and thirdly if you befriend a druid well enough you might be able to tame them sometime!

35 yards out: Another night elf, yes they are everywhere (but then so are blood elves), this time a fellow hunter, and a Marksman at that, now I know incredibly little about the marksman tree myself, I admit it is something I am ignorant about, but just because its something that I don't feel like speccing as doesn't mean I can't stand to know more about it, that and he is currently doing much more interesting raids than me.

ScatTerEd Nightmares: Another survival hunter, do I need more reason to link? Theres some good raiding and arena advice to be found there so go and have a look.

Random Ravings of Warcraft: Advance warning here, theres a lot of alpha info there, if you don't want spoilers about WoTLK then don't look here right at the moment, anyhow all the alpha info is subject to change, and theres little info on hunters yet anyway. Still if you wish to see what info is so far known then look here.

Edit: would have helped if I actually put a link to the blogcast on here *blush* ah, well the links there now, sorry about that.

Repairs in progress

The few times I've logged on in the last couple of days I've ended up having wow crash on me, each time faster than it did before, and today I can't even log on without it crashing, so I'm trying to fix it, the auto-repair just said that theres a "major problem" and that it will need to put wow back to an old patch for me to repatch up to spec.

Update: reverted to 2.0, so thats the original BC release right? 1 gig download started, estimated 5 hours, lots of fun.

RL side notes: I'm keeping steady with my weight loss, about 2lbs a week, and my glasses are ready, but I really can't be bothered to go into town to pick them up today.

The state of the guild

Much like entering my brothers bedroom, returning to my guild was a strange thing, sure you can recognize it as the thing it once was, but how can it actually be that messy and still have people living in it, and is that a condom of the floor ewwwwwwwwww!

Yes that is a picture of my brothers room, and yes that is an accurate representation of the state of my guild, and yes I have "discovered" a condom in my brothers room before, your not getting more details than that though due to grossness.

Earlier today we had a Karazhan run, to say it didn't go well would be a slight understatement, a guild that has killed prince several times, now didn't have what it takes to kill any more than Attumen, and even then we had to grab 3 pug healers and 1 pug tank. However I did manage to pinch a new necklace from the huntsman, though I'm still unsure if its actually much of an upgrade from my shattered sun pendant, if nothing else its nice to have it there so I have an easy item swap in case I lose some hit rating somewhere along the line.

Now it would be easy to use this event to actually inflate my ego, see I was the guild leader during the guild's golden age, and now that the leaders changed and I've been away a while its all fallen apart. However to be honest I wasn't a good guild leader, I was no good at settling drama, did next to no recruitment, knew nothing of inter-guild politics and generally all I actually did that was productive was keep the guild bank organized and tidy. But speaking to some ex-members that seemed to be the what they wanted, see my replacement actually tried! Suddenly there was someone making changes, trying to improve, but also someone who doesn't like upsetting people, sometimes she made mistakes, and people left, however she would then change things again to try and get those people back, those people wouldn't come back, and yet more people leave due to the second lot of changes.

*Sigh* such is life I suppose, but now I have a decision, do I try and bring this guild back to what it once was, help it rise as a phoenix from its ashes, or do I accept it and let the wind take the ashes away? I'm thinking the logical thing to do is to find a new guild, one which doesn't need me to work to play a game, but so help me I have feelings for the guild, not just the people in it, it was once mine, sure I didn't want it at the time, but that doesn't change the fact that it was mine.

You know its quite depressing when your realize that you still have the instincts that you had when you were a year old, you only want something when someone tries to take it away!

Oh and on a RL note, went shopping, no luck on the glasses, think I found a frame I liked, but we ended up changing town half way through our shopping spree so couldn't go back and order them, the friend I was going shopping with, just gotten out of a 3 and a half year relationship, so she wasn't in the best of moods, oh and my dads away all week, which means my brother will be having several drunken parties because he can. Isn't life fun?
