I've been looking over my WWS reports, and I'm starting to realize steady shot really is a very small amount of my dps, well to be honest that isn't much of a surprise, around 12% of my damage comes from steady nowadays, but the fact is I'm paying a glyph to boost the damage, perhaps I shouldn't be doing this?
Glyph of steady shot, a 10% boost to steady shot damage, well that sounds super, but is it really? well taking an example of a 10 person naxx:- Kel'thuzad, 15% of my dps came from steady shot, and 10% of that came form the glyph. Over the fight thats a total of 141,486 steady shot damage with the glyph, should I have removed the glyph I would have gotten 128,624 damage from steady shots, a difference of 12,862 damage.
My total damage done for the fight was 1,135,524...
12862/1135524=0.0113
0.0113x100=1.13%
Glyph of steady shot provided me with 1% of my dps, glyphs are supposed to be equal to talent points and talent points are meant to be 1% dps boosts (with exceptions of the 21-31-41-51 ones anyhow) So it seems glyph of steady shot is right on track
Glyph of steady shot, your alright!
just... I kinda wanted an excuse to try something different... bleh its nto as if SV hunters have a pve dps-boosting glyph like BM and MM have

Maybe in a build without Aimed Shot Glyph of Multi-Shot worth some considering. I haven't tried it yet against Glyph of SS, though.
The way I see it, 4 major glyphs can be used for Survival effectively.
Glyph of Serpent Sting - 6sec boost to duration. This dramatically helps MM, but is also quite useful for all specs, because less time refreshing Serp = more time/mana spent on dps
Glyph of Steady Shot - covered
Glyph of IAotH - Everyone has their reasons for liking/hating this, but this basically = 2 talents in IAotH. Like you said, glyphs are like a talent point... this is a double!
Glyph of Immolation Trap - THIS is why I'm dropping steady. Trap dancing if fun and is great for dps, and this makes immolation trap dancing, well, scary... however, for sniper surv hunters, I'd keep the steady glyph.
Well, this is all just my opinion. Hope it's helpful.
